Vermin
A subject we rarely talk about, but after a glass of wine, or a particularly harrowing episode that must be shared, we finally spill on vermin. Mercifully, we were spared encounters with vermin in our childhood. Our mother had an extreme aversion to anything living in the home that wasn’t human, with the exception of a small aquarium in the basement that was eventually abandoned after the untimely and unjust death of our pet turtle (Mom flushed it down the toilet when she suspected it was eating the fish; it wasn’t). Our childhood home would have made Terminex proud; even spiders feared for their lives. However, in our adult lives we’ve faced a series of unwanted household companions- bats, mice, and snakes.
