On Being Irish
Are you Irish? What does that mean to you? Is it something you celebrate just once a year on St. Patrick’s Day, or does it define you? Irish-American by birth, with dual Irish and American citizenship by choice, Diane and Linda-Marie love their heritage. Their grandparents came from Ireland to Boston in the early twentieth century and laid down roots that have spread across the country and blended with other cultures. Still, the sense of being Irish–from food traditions, religious observances, music and dance, and home decor to those, yes, special Irish skills in kissing–is very important to the Barrett Sisters!
